Our customer works on ambitious Smart NIC evolution roadmap for software product. Basic idea is to bring virtual switch operations from host machine to Smart NIC, which has verified capacity to bear new network function duty. Offloading allows to utilize host resources, especially CPU usage, efficiently for applications run on the host.
Product is done in partnership with virtual switch software and SoC vendors to align on standard approach and interoperability. Project stages are planned for 2-step host resources offload: 1) hardware supported flow identification for a subset/cache of the flows and 2) software flow identification.
Our team does E2E solution testing involving both hardware and software parts. Key network parameters as KPIs: throughput based on package size, latency, … are checked upon.
Also integration of Smart NIC hardware offloading with OpenStack, VMware and Kubernetes frameworks is part of the backlog.
2) Network traffic monitoring and network service user experience control software vendor
One of our customers is company developing solutions for smart network traffic analysis and monitoring. Solutions are applicable for internet service providers to propose smart and safe internet usage for and users. Company holds strong position in this market world-wide working with providers of different size in many locations.
Project we’re looking engineers for is concentrated on core company product, responsible for network traffic filtering (deep package inspection is used). It is team to be formed, which will extend existing engineering capacity and will act independently by taking responsibility on E2E feature/functionality development.
