Lead Teradata Consultant

Your responsibilities

  • Design, develop and configure data integration processes on the Teradata EDW platform
  • Perform database operations including changes to the database model, necessary optimization and/or SQL tuning, leverage of Teradata utilities and interfaces with the ETL and reporting tools as may be required for development projects
  • Expose to Development and production environments to provide support to the ongoing AD and AM activities ; leverage deep Teradata expertise to work together with the ETL/Data Integration tool specialists and the Reporting/Analytics tool specialists to ensure that the requirements specifications for new or modified Business Intelligence reports or data sets are met by aligning with the right set of data within the EDW, and ensuring overall alignment with the information architecture and standards.
  • Provide the db expertise to solve AM tickets that need tweaks/modifications and/or improvements of the database structure

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years in BI/DW domain
  • 6+ years experience in working with Teradata , in large-scale / enterprise-wide DW environments
  • Certifications in Teradata is a plus
  • Additional Expertise in Informatica Data Integration tools optional; or deep experience in working in an environment with Informatica as the ETL tool is a plus
  • Past Experience in working for large Financial Services organizations preferred
  • Past Experience in working with DW environments that deal with financial and regulatory reporting like IFRS9, Anacredit, Large Exposures reporting etc desirable
  • Experience in developing automated frameworks, templates and design patterns
  • Through knowledge on Teradata architecture and Teradata components and utilities such as BTEQ, TPT, FastLoad, FastExport, MultiLoad, Tpump, and Viewpoint
  • In-depth knowledge of Teradata SQL, Teradata Stored Procedure Language (SPL) and TPT
  • Experience with SQL performance tuning and batch optimization to handle and process large volume of data in Teradata
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good knowledge of data warehousing concepts, logical/physical database design and dimensional modeling
  • Experience working with a Global Delivery Model ( onsite-offshore )
  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing in a clear and straightforward manner with a broad range of technical and non-technical users and stakeholders
  • Ability to prioritize, organize, make decisions and solve problems while working under pressure
  • Collaborative; ability to work both independently and in a team
